Annual Champadevi Race and Smoke Offering

This was taken shortly after the finish of the first annual Shedra East Leopard Handicap Hill Race to the summit of Champadevi, at a height of 2278 metres above sea level. We started from the shedra complex in Pharping, which is at a height of about 1375 metres, climbing past the Hatiban Resort restaurant and hotel, and out into open leopard territory, with great views of the snow-capped Himalaya, before the steep ascent to the finish. Competitors set off at intervals based on their estimated finish times. Stefan was the first to cross the line, beating me by about five seconds (although he did start 30 minutes before me). Lena, also in the 30 minutes group, was third.

At the summit, once we had recovered, we all performed a sang offering.

And then Christian read his newspaper.

And we all went to the Hatiban in search of more water, some shade and a big lunch.

Smoke Offering? where is the smoke? where are the buckets of yogurt and honey and milk and what not? mmm. more than a stick of incense is called for in your circle puja. you should get the lotsawa crew to carry some offerings up rather than running the Champadevi, or better yet, run the Devi Race with the offerings.
jsut watching out for your karmic debt,

Hi.
Can someone there in Pharping help me out? I'm looking to make an offering to Chatral Rinpoche. Is there a way I can do that over the internet? Or could someone find out a bank account number and email it to me? [dawa at cape dot com]
Thanks.
Constance
Just email Chatral Rinpoche at realized_yogi@jaluchenpo.org or else you can get onto Rinpoche's blog spot which he checks nearly every hour. Out in Pharping Rinpoche's blackberry is not working so well so you'll have to settle for email or blogging.
